What do you think about having an introductions section where members can add threads to introduce themselves and their pets?

Nice idea fougere. Presumably it will be in a members only bit.

Yes, I would say members only. It's OK for those that have been here from the start because you tend to get know everyone as they joined. The new people joining might like to look up members to find out a bit more about them.

Any other thoughts on this please? I did suggest in the early days having a 'me and my family' thread, where we could say who we are, where we live, what animals we have, adding or leaving out any info as we please. Needless to say, any such thread will be a members logged in viewable area only.

That is why I did my 'Introducing.....' thread a few months ago, but it dissapeared off the first page of the board when no one new posted anything. Maybe you could add bits from that thread onto a new pinned topic Ruth, maybe one that can be seen by members only at the top of each sub forum?

What if I find that thread and Pin it? I did wonder if we had a section where I wrote a Welcome post to each member as they joined, aybe it would encourage them to post. I think once someone has posted, they may have the courage to continue?

That sounds good Ruth Don't feel like you have to use my old thread, just cut and paste bits out of it if you prefer to make it more efficient.
