Saturday 10th September, good number of donkey entrants, the Polly Grey Cup to win, and prize monies too. Come and join us if you can, only ten minutes from Barnard Castle, on the A66. If the weather holds it will be a lovely day on a truly beautiful site.

Do you think it would be possible to enter a mule in the donkey mares class?

Do you think it would be possible to enter a mule in the donkey mares class? Oooh don't know LRR, but you could ring or e-mail them and ask, they might do a late entries thingy. www.bowesshow.org.ukEven if you can't, you could come along and join us! It is a lovely show, lots of things going on, a real country show. Of course all you need is good weather! If you want to telephone them instead, I will pm you. I know Yvonne, it is a long way, pity!

Thanks Baglady, wasn't sure if they did entries on the day or not. Might just go to the show and meet you all again ( which was very enjoyable at Lamb Hill). Having examined Ebony, my mule today, I see she's got some small rough patches of skin on each side of her back. They give a slightly speckled effect and would not look good in a show. I don't know what they are and they don't bother her at all or appear to itch or anything, but I've put some neem oil on and hopefully that will get rid of it. If anyone knows what this could be (don't think it's rain scald) - I'd be grateful for any info.

Landroverroy don't know who apart from Baglady is going to show - I'd love to go but it's too far for my old car to get there and back in one piece! But if you go we want pics.

Yes, as Looby says, I will be there by myself! I have supplied the cup in memory of my dear old Polly Grey, and it was through a friend who helps in the organising of the show that I got involved in a donkey section, which was new last year. I am making my way there by myself, (just 15 minutes from home), but my OH will be there from early on as he is judging the horticulture section. I will just be a hovering onlooker! If I know you are coming I will look out for you, but it is a biggish show so maybe I will give you my mobile and you could text me on the day (if you come). You could also come to mine for a cuppa and meet the dirty fat white donkey girls. (I kid you not!)
