Taking Ellie to star at Derbyshire Day organised by radio Derby. She will be carriage driving and meeting the public. Hope she's a good girl and the weather is kind as it's our first big public show - about 3,000 came last year! Come say hello. Hardwick Hall is just off M1 near Chesterfield.

Thanks I think I will be needing the luck. Been working towards it for 2 years but a bit nervous now it's really happening.

Ellie behaved impeccably - couldn't fault her. 2 brass bands, a chainsaw sculptor and a jcb demonstration all taken in stride. Mobbed by hundreds of children she patiently plodded round. Driving was tricky as they hadn't allocated a space and suggested using the car park. But cars moving in and out all day so although she was excellent at dodging them, we found an empty field to try out a few fancy manoeuvres then went back to walking. Very positive response - everyone loves donkeys! Tried photos onto photobucket but can't get it right - not obvious with iPhone
